Rhythms I

The Rhythms I painting is the first in a series of paintings, exploring the Fibonacci series in form. 

The artwork consists of a composition of geometric shapes and blocks of color. Large rectangular sections in muted green and blue dominate the piece, with smaller rectangles in yellow, red, and white providing contrast. The arrangement of shapes and the use of color create a sense of balance and rhythm in the piece.

The rectangular composition hides the spiral relationship of the Fibonacci sequence underneath the forms. First in a series of paintings still in progress. The Rhythm Series explores the Fibonacci series in shape, size and relationship.

The color choices are a combination of complementary and contrasting hues to express their own separate yet connected relationships and movement to each other.
